In a month of love and sometimes heartache, I will always get to celebrate the anniversary of having my very first book published. A book about a guy strong enough to know when he was wrong, about a girl wise enough to realize what she really wants, and about a couple willing to put their own lives on the line in order to save the other–even though the whole town knows they hate each other.
I poured so much love into writing this book, and that love has come back to me one-hundred-fold over this last year. One reader has read Storm of Attraction five times. Five! For real! Others have shared my story with their friends–the greatest compliment a writer can receive. My sweet but spunky 70+ neighbor came to my book signing, and afterward looked into my eyes and told me ‘there’s so much of you in this book.’ And she’s right. There will always be so much of me in this book, and every book I write, and I love sharing that with all of you.
So here’s to my first year, and to all of you, for making it amazing! I celebrated my pretty book’s bday by having a pair of custom earrings made. A gift to me, and to my book.
What do you think? The cutest thing ever, yes? If ever an author needed compensation for all the sleepless nights, the missed meals–and okay we’ll just admit it–the missed showers, too…miniature books in the form of chocolates, cupcake toppers, and earrings would more than pay it back. 🙂
Here’s to Willowdale book two–which is coming along nicely–and to many more years of writing! <3 <3 <3
